Casey for Yes – 2023 Referendum

Introduction

In 2023, the movement supported the Yes campaign for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander recognition in the Constitution. This position reflected a long-standing call from First Peoples and a proposal backed by more than 80% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Locally, this campaign was about listening, learning, and standing in respect. It brought people together across the Casey electorate to engage in meaningful conversations about reconciliation, recognition, and the kind of country we want to be.
